The office staff would like your help in recognizing our staff. Please take a few moments and use the link below to provide some encouragement to those folks that are making a major difference in your child's future. These comments can be anonymous, or you can provide your name. The office staff will use the provided comments every Thursday for our #thankfulThursday movement. The attached form can be completed, as little or often as you like, throughout the entire school year. We appreciate your support in growing the culture of gratitude that already exists at MIS!!
A comment shared this week:
"I appreciate how Mrs. Warner helped students apply what they learned about wind turbines through the use of a Socratic seminar. It was clear they were engaged in the activity and were respectful of those that may have had an opposing opinion."
Teacher appreciation week
We would like to thank the PTO for the kindness they showed us this week. We were all very grateful for the treats, food and notes that were provided this week. We appreciate all you do for our staff and students, not just this week, but throughout the year.
6th Grade Parents
As with many things due to COVID, the 6th grade visit to the junior high will not occur this year. The junior high staff is working on a video that will be for parents and students to replace the school visit and parent night event. It will have information about the schedule, counseling services, ECAs/athletics, tips for success, etc. It will also provide you with the date for the 7th grade open house which is planned for July. The hope is to allow you to bring your child in to visit the building on this evening.
In addition, each class has had a virtual visit from the junior high answering many of the questions that students might have had regarding their experience next year. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us or directly to the junior high.
end of year awards
As mentioned last week, we will be holding an awards program during the school day to honor our students at the end of the year. However, it will not be an in-person event for parents.
Each grade level is planning a cohorted event that will be recorded. The link to the recording will be pushed out to parents so that the program can be viewed at a convenient time.
As COVID rates continue to rise, we kindly remind you not to send your child to school if someone in your household has a pending test or if your child is exhibiting COVID-like symptoms. Please help us finish the year strong and allow as many students to be on site as possible.
