When it started

The war began by Hitler. It started 3:00am June 6,1944. On the beaches Normandy with the D-Day invasion.

When Hitler took over Germany

Hitler wanted to take over more land for Germans to live on. He believed the so-called Aryan race-(white and non-jewish) He wanted Germany to have a military again. He wanted control.

Hitler annexed Austria in 1938. Austria did not put up a fight.

Meanwhile in Japan military leaders wanted to extend Japan's reach and influence.

Italy,Germany and Japan wanted to expand their country's territory and power.

September 1st, 1939 Germany used 250,000 troops and 1,600 planes.The planes bombed Polish cities.

On May 10th, 1940 Germany invaded Holland and Belgium.

Germany eventually gave up the battle of Britain after months with little progress.
