9th Annual North Way Spring Gift & Craft Boutique SSP In the Community

Hey again everyone!

I’d like to introduce the newest section to my blog- “Storybook Studios in the Community”. These posts will be based upon local events and fundraisers that I have photographed or otherwise contributed too. As a small local business, I feel it is so important to give back to my community- and by sharing these posts, I hope to spread the word about all of the wonderful, amazing things these organizations are doing and build any support I can, for them. I aim to contribute to at least one event each month- so if you know of an organization who would like their event photographed- let me know or send them my way!

With that being said- the very first event that I would like to share is a fundraiser for the North Way Christian Community Student Ministry, in Wexford, PA. The 9th Annual Yard Sale with Indoor Spring Gift and Craft Boutique was held on Saturday, May 6th, 2017 and featured over 100 vendors and some amazing local artists!

While it was a chilly, rainy spring morning, it didn’t dampen the spirit of anyone there! We even had a few brave souls weather the storm and set up outside! Mothers, daughters, community members and friends gathered together with enthusiasm to support this great cause.

A variety of vendors provided an incredible selection of gifts with everything from Pampered Chef, LulaRoe, Younique, MaryKay and ThirtyOne to Tastefully Simple, Usborne Books, and Pink Zebra (plus so so many more!). Local crafters and artists such as Lori Fung’s Yard Games & Other Fun Items; Lindsay Worley’s Destination Cupcakes (Oh My WOW!); Jessica Dixon’s Colorful Creations and Mellissa Lamar’s A Butterfly's Soul Custom Handmade Jewelry made an appearance as well with their beautiful handmade gifts- there were truly so many wonderful items available, it was hard (or impossible, in my case!) to choose just one. (I’m sure lots of moms, including my own, had a special, unique gift the next weekend on Mothers day!)

The first 100 guests to arrive were treated to swag bags filled with coupons and goodies from local vendors, and for each $10 spent by guests “inside" with the crafters and vendors had a chance to win a prize package worth over $1500, which went to one very lucky winner!

On top of this- the Chinese auction was an awesome success with dozens of donations from area businesses to be won.

Food trucks parked outside from North Park Lounge, Sinkers & Suds Donuts & Coffee, and BRGR kept everyone's tummies happy while they shopped, and the Student Ministry team took amazing care of the vendors and artists by collecting lunch orders and delivering them right to our tables.

Wexford's very own Graeter's Ice Cream (absolutely AMAZING ice cream!!) joined in the fun while everyone had the opportunity to enjoy complimentary massages by Elements Massage, throughout the event.

The lovely and talented Karen Plumley Rodgers did an incredible job organizing this event and her hard work was obvious to all who participated. Thank-you for all that you do, Karen!

It was a true honor to have been there for all the excitement and I’m happy to share some of that excitement with you here.
