Melges, Ankers and Thielman Take Podium

First Place — Harry Melges IV
Second Place — Adam Ankers
Third Place — Daniel Thielman
Top Female — Peyton Ankers

Taking his grandfather’s advice, Harry Melges IV started first and increased his lead — and ultimately won the Melges 14 Midwinter Championship. Adam Ankers of Privateer Yacht Club (Chattanooga, TN) sailed an extremely consistent series earning a strong second. Daniel Thielman from Corinthian Yacht Club (San Francisco, CA) put his stamp on the final day, earning third place.

WET AND WILD DAY TWO

Wet and wild is the only way to describe today's racing at the Melges 14 Midwinter Championship. Today saw four races in a building 5 to 15 knot breeze, turquoise blue water and 80 degree weather of Sarasota Bay. With one day left, Harry Melges IV, Adam Ankers, Daniel Thielman and Lars Osell have established a solid advantage over the fleet. Thielman and Osell are tied for third, setting tomorrow up to be a battle for the podium. Melges continued his heavy weather dominance today with four bullets.
