What We're Learning
We're learning how to multiply 2-digit by 2-digit numbers using area models and partial products. See the video below for a better understanding. (Note: Students will learn the standard algorithm as the year progresses but for now we're focusing on these models.)
We're learning about the different forms of energy - Mechanical, Electrical, Light, Thermal, and Sound (MELTS).
We're learning about the accomplishments of significant empresarios (Moses Austin, Martin de Leon) and their impact on the settlement of Texas. We're also learning different missions and their impact on Texas history.
The History in Motion bus is bringing San Antonio and Texas history to Coker on Wednesday, January 9th. This is an exciting learning experience for our 4th grade students as history will come alive through a colorful, interactive, educational, and fun traveling exhibit. This opportunity is absolutely free as it’s provided courtesy of the San Antonio Express News and Ancira. It will take place during regular school hours.
