Charleston, South Carolina Your solar eclipse headquarters

Viewing the Eclipse

Charleston conveniently falls directly into the path of totality of the 2017 solar eclipse. It is on the southern reaches of the path, so Charleston is a perfect place for not just viewing the eclipse, but also avoiding the crowds!

When to Watch

To see the eclipse, make sure you have a great spot on the beach by 5:16PM, for the beginning of the partial eclipse. The total eclipse will begin just an hour and a half later at 6:46PM, before reaching it's max at 6:47:05. Don't blink though! The eclipse will be over at 6:47:56PM. Perfect timing to post your photos and head to one of the attractions listed below.
