Viewing the Eclipse
Charleston conveniently falls directly into the path of totality of the 2017 solar eclipse. It is on the southern reaches of the path, so Charleston is a perfect place for not just viewing the eclipse, but also avoiding the crowds!
When to Watch
To see the eclipse, make sure you have a great spot on the beach by 5:16PM, for the beginning of the partial eclipse. The total eclipse will begin just an hour and a half later at 6:46PM, before reaching it's max at 6:47:05. Don't blink though! The eclipse will be over at 6:47:56PM.
