Pictures were taken in Ottawa during the 2017 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships. On assignation for TSN, photographer Johany Jutras combines her talent with sports announcer Rod Black to offer you this essay.
In the capital of our great nation. In the year of a 150th celebration. A skating congregation, with provincial affiliation, captured our imagination.
.
An athlete invasion, dripping with unwavering dedication. Fulfilling great expectation.
We were witnesses to jubilation - exhilaration – desperation – devastation.
Serious emotional stimulation.
Ridiculous rotation.
A quad sensation.
Thank you for your participation but mostly your inspiration. To you, our skate nation. Congratulations!
