Where I'm from Inspired by the poeTry of george ella lyon

I am from long gravel roads and quiet nights

I am from small homes and big yards

I am from snowball bushes and long rows of corn

I am from tobacco fields

I am from papaws shot gun and bluegrass music

I am from soup beans and corn bread and home made blackberry cobbler

I am from church on Sunday's and dinner at mamaws

I am from the smell of fresh cut fire wood in the fall

I am from the smell of wood smoke from the stove on a cold winter day

I am from the smell of diesel fuel and the smell of freshly plowed dirt

I am from the hot sun loading hay

I am from the country
