ST. PATRICK'S WEEK!
The grass was extra green this week during out outdoor free time! We had fun playing soccer and doing jump rope on the side walk. A few after schoolers pretended to be fairies with hula hoops! We also enjoyed the nice weather at the park and reading comic books in the sun.
This week we played doctor doctor in the mainroom and crack-a-bout too. During indoor free time, we played switch-up, where one person changes something about their appearance (example: braclet switches wrists, hair clip switches sides, pant leg roled down etc.). Then the other after schools have to guess what changed! It was fun watching them be detectives and find the change!
For club day this week, the students had the option of board game club or gymnastics club. There was apples to apples, connect four, monopolgy, battle ship and more! Many students switched games and were able to play many before our club time was done. In gymnastics, our counselor Erica helped with back bends and gymnastic stretches before having free time on the blue mats.
Arts and crafts
Our crafts this week had lots of colors, mainly because they had lots of rainbows! On monday, we made hanging pots of gold, where the students put together rainbow links and created a pot of gold at the bottom. On Tuesday, we colored in huge clovers with a lot of colors, they glued them on cardstock so they could be a great decoration. On Thursday, we made 3-D rainbows, where we folded our rainbow paper to make it look like the rainbow was coming out of the background.
ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARTY!
This Friday, we had a blast celebrating St. Patrick's Day. We started off with cereal with "clover" milk (aka green milk) for snack. Afterwards, we had so much fun taking pictures at the photo booth with all of the St. Patrick's Day props. For kids that took individual pictures, they received a chocolate! YUM! Then we had a clover St. Patrick's Day word search. The after schoolers had fun looking for all the holiday words.
Thank you for a great week!
