Zaire Ebolavirus EBOLA


  • Discovered by Dr. Peter Piot of Belgium.
  • Nearly 40 years ago, a Belgian scientist traveled to a the Congolese rain forest to help find out why so many people were dying from an unknown disease.
  • Discovered in the Democratic Republic of Congo's Zaire River.


The Zaire Ebolavirus (Ebola) is extremely contagious and symptoms include:

  • Pain in the abdomen, chest, and joints.
  • Chills, fever, dehydration.
  • Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting blood.
  • Coughing up blood , bleeding eyes and nose.


  • Ebola is transmitted through bodily fluids such as Infected:
  • Blood, saliva, urine, and other fluids.
