Pope John Paul 2

Pope John Paul was born in Wadowice Poland on May 18, 1920. He had one brother and his mom died when he was 9 years of age and his brother Edmund died when he was 12. His dad was in the army.

Some of his educational experiences, was he showed interest in theater and poetry and he went Jagiellonian University. Some hobbies that he liked are skiing and swimming and he was very athletic when he was young.

Some of the adult experiences. He became the bishop of Ombi in 1958 and the archbishop of Krakow six years later. Pope john Paul 2 dies in Italy in 2005.

Pope John Paul visited 129 countries doing missionary work. He did all of this because he wanted the world to understand mercy and love. One of the bible verses he quoted was Genesis 21:17.

Legacy he left behind was to show other people they can speak up and not be afraid.

Some of his quotes are ''As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live. Freedom consists not in doing what we like, but in having the right to do what we ought. Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song.''

Facts about Pope John Paul 2, in 1978 he became the first non-Italian pope in more than 400 years. He was a saint, the cause of his death was septic shock and and cardio circulatory collapse.
