In 1991, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, my parents immigrated to a rough neighborhood in Chicago. After a few years, they were able to save enough money to move to a more affluent suburban area.
As a kid growing up, one of my favorite hobbies quickly became playing basketball. I played from first grade all the way through my senior year of high school.
Fishing is another one of my hobbies. I also started at a very young age when my grandpa taught me. Every year as a family, we try to go on some fishing and camping trips over the summers.
As I got older, I turned my attention to politics after being inspired by President Obama on the campaign trail. Since then, I have worked for and interned for some state senate campaigns in Illinois as well as a gubernatorial campaign here in Florida. My ultimate goal is to hold federal elected office.
At UM, I major in economics, political science, and history. I also work with the basketball program here as a student assistant and I am in the UM Democrats club.
I am currently in the middle of applying to 13 law schools so I have no idea where I will be in the fall!
