July 1789 A mob invades and destroys the Bastille prison in Paris; this starts the French Revolution

French Revolution

September 1793 the reign of terror begins. The reign of terror executed 40,000 people by guillotine being convicted of treason.

June 1794 Robespierre is mocked at the festival of the Supreme Being. He is later on sentenced to death by his peers.
