Milefield Newsletter 12th November 2021

The start of the school year has been extremely positive; it has been great to get around school and see pupils engaged, excited and eager to learn.

As always, we are committed to our school vision:

ENGAGE: Motivating children to learn in every lesson, every day.
INSPIRE: Developing a thirst for knowledge & building aspirations.
Empower: Providing the skills for success at the next phase of education & beyond.

LEARN

I am available most mornings on the school playground so please do come and speak to me- Mrs Trickett

As a school, we expect all pupils to uphold our core values:

Thank you to everyone who has completed and returned our home-school agreement. IF you haven't already could PARENTS/CARERS please DISCUSS THIS WITH THEIR CHILD THEN SIGN AND RETURN IT TO SCHOOL. Thank you.
attendance Matters!
AS ALWAYS, we are focusing on improving attendance across school. We know we can rely on both pupils and parents to support us in raising attendance and reaching OUR target of 97%. I am pleased to say that we have got off to a great start and that weekly attendance has been just below target since starting back in NOvember:-
WEEK 1: 96.1% (almost there!)
currently: 97.2% (keep it up)

Remembrance Day 2021

Our Y5 and Y6 pupils were asked to prepare an assembly for whole school about remembrance day and they did a fantastic job! They led this themselves and read poetry and reminded all pupils/staff about the reason why we wear poppies and what the history of Armistice Day is.

Children even made their own poppies throughout school and our staff re-created the Tower of London Poppy River on our pitwheel outside school...
