Ancestory Project William Wallace - athena johnson

William Wallace was born sometime in 1825 and died on February 15, 1905. He married Margaret Beasley in 1845, and later remarried to Mary Frances Smith in 1890 after becoming a widower. His and Margaret's children were John Calvin Wallace, James Wallace, Sarah Elizabeth Wallace, William Thomas Wallace (relative who I'm related to), Martha Wallace, Mary Margaret Wallace, Catherine Wallace, Bradley Wallace, and Andrew Jackson Wallace. In 1850, he worked on his brothers farm in Shelby, Alabama. William was a Confederate soldier and served as a Private in Company A of the first Battalion of Mississippi. The battalion he was in participated in the Siege of Vicksburg campaign, but they were disbanded 2 months later.

William Wallace spent most of his life in Mississippi, working as a farmer. He was part of a family that had been in America for a long time, making him an old immigrant.
