Let's Celebrate!
Turning ONE is where the fun starts! Your little one's personality is shining bright and they have learnt how to move around and explore on their own. It's a big world out there with so many things to feel and taste!
What To Expect
I typically start with a couple portrait images without the cake (this more like a few minutes of you running around placing your little on the spot while I quickly capture them before they are gone again)
Then we move onto the cake / food (and outfit change if needed). Once the cake is put in front of them there will be a few mins of .... "is this ALL for me?" .... "I can actually eat it ALL of it?!" .... "what is this?" looks. Keep in mind 80% of babies are not interested in the cake. This can be anything from the texture, the sweetness of the frosting, or just simply not in the mood. I aim to capture as many fun memories as possible in this part - even if they are not interested in the cake.
Then we move onto the splash ..... BUBBLE BATH TIME. Your choice of a little white tub or a little white bucket filled with warm water and lush milky bath bubbles for sensitive skin. A super fun way to end the session and a great way to clean up all the mess!
Things you should know ......
- Cake is not included due to food hygiene / intolerance and allergy reasons.
- I take a minimalist approach when setting up, keeping the focus on the birthday boy / girl. This means I don't have "themed" props.
- I do have a cricut to make little banners / cut out items for backdrop
- Just like your newborn session I am in close contact with you to plan the perfect most amazing birthday setup. (some mom's even bring in a few decorations to use)
- I typically do not use balloons. They are a huge distraction to littles and if not placed just right I am dealing with ugly shadows in processing. (I am open to discuss on different uses if your heart is set on balloons)
