Narrative Project

My narrative is about my dad and him being diagnosed with cancer. When I heard that he had been diagnosed with cancer I was very worried. I was very worried because my grandpa had died with brain cancer so I didn’t know what to expect. I was worried that he had a very bad type of cancer but it was just prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is common so when I heard that he had it I was not as worried but I still didn’t know how bad it was. When he told me, my brother, and sister that it was found early and it wasn’t a big deal I was not very worried. I felt relieved. The day that he had surgery I was a little bit nervous. I got an update when he was out of surgery and I felt better. He came home and was talking about all the details. I felt much better once he was home and knowing that all the cancer was removed. Some words that I used to describe myself would be worried, nervous, relieved, and hopeful.

I also remember my dad having to spend 2 days in the hospital. I didn’t know what to think if that was a good or a bad thing that he was staying in the hospital for longer or not. I kind of thought it might be a good thing to have a doctor there to help him if he needs anything but I also was worried that something else might go wrong because he had to stay there. I was worried that something worse would happen. I remember when he got home he was excited to see me and I and my sister and brother were relieved to see him. That is my narrative and it is about my dad going to the hospital.
