the 29th annual SWCC Scholarship golf classic Sept. 23, 2021

The 29th Annual SWCC Scholarship Golf Classic was held at Tazewell County Country Club on Sept. 23, 2021. The tournament is an opportunity to raise funds for much-needed financial support for deserving students at SWCC. Beyond tuition costs, students require funding for books, and supplies and materials for their classes. All proceeds go towards scholarship funds to help pay for these costs.

Over 50 golfers participated in the tournament. To ensure fair and competitive play, golfers were paired up in twosomes with someone who had a similar golf handicap. They were then placed in a flight with other twosomes of similar handicaps. "Best Ball" format was used. (Each player plays their own ball throughout each hole. The team’s score for the hole is the lowest score shot by a single team member on that hole.) Lowest team score wins.

Rob Morgan had a hole-in-one on the 13th hole. Morgan said it was his first ever ace.

SWCC thanks and greatly appreciates every sponsor of the tournament. Thank you to everyone who helped put the tournament together, and thanks to all the golfers who participated!
