monday april 3 : the old slave mart is the only known extant building used as a slave auction gallery in south carolina. plantation owners would buy the slaves here, then they would take them back to their homes and the slaves would work for them.

DRAYTON HALL

monday april 3: a 37 year old man by the name of john drayton built the drayton hall with his two sons william henry and charles. it was constructed in the south carolina gazette as nothing less than a palace of gardens.

tuesday april 4: rainbow row is the name of a series of thirteen colorful historic houses in charleston, s.c that many people had lived in and they still live in them today.

HEYWARD - WASHINGTON HOUSE

tuesday april 4: the heyward- washington house is the house of a SIGNER of the declaration of independence and where president george washington stayed.
