websites have dfferent purpouses, there are 7
1. to inform
these websites give news about what is going on in the world
- BBC news and Wikipedia tells us what is going on in the world and about whatever you want to know
2. to educate
these websites educate people on what the need to know
- My maths and BBC Bitesize teaches you about maths and School subjects
3. to persuade
these websites are there to persuade the person into beleiving or buying what they want
- CNN and Apple Mac influences your opinion on what to think and what to buy
4. For e-comerce
the purpouse of theese websites are for banking buying and selling products
- Ebay and amazon allows you to buy and sell things like chairs
5. For storage
the purpouse of these websites are to store data and information
- Icloud and Dropbox allows us to store information and data like pictures and videos
6. For sharing
these websites are for sharing conversations, pictures, videos and other lols
- One drive and Email allows people to share data like text or videos
7. for social interaction
these websites are for communicating with friends like sharing videos and pictures
- Facebook and tinder allow social interaction like sharing pictures and videos or to talk to other people and to find a partner
Conventions of websites
websites will contain some or all of the below:
- Navigation bar/menu: this will allow the user to easily find and change between tabs and pages on a website.
- Logo: a unique and recognisable picture or badge. The user will recognise this and know that they are on the right website.
- search function: This part of a website allows the user to quickly look around for anything on the website based on a word or phrase
- Layout grid: a website may be laid out in a very tidy way, straight lines and columns. This makes it easy for the user to view.
- Image: a photo/picture/ visual element.
- Colour scheme: the scheme of colour the website might use to reflect its meaning
- Sign in/out: For people to enter their own information to feel apart of the website.
- Hyperlinks: These can be any selectable object (a word /picture/video, clicking on a hyperlink will take the user to another part of the website.
- Website/ Product name: Similar use to logo. The website/product name wll need to be big and clear so the user knows they are on the correct website
