THE FACTS:

  • In 2019, Public Health England stated 1 in 4 (23%) of 5-year olds have previously had tooth decay.
  • An average of 3 days of school were missed due to dental problems.
  • 38% of children had sleepless nights because of the pain.
  • Many days of work were potentially lost as 41% of parents/carers were employed.
These statistics reveal, that change is needed. This change starts with ourselves.
Let's scrub up on our knowledge and make sure that we're making our tooth fairies proud of our teeth!

Plaque is wack, floss is boss!

Plaque:

  • Plaque is a sticky, slimy substance made up mostly of the germs that cause tooth decay.
  • That's why it's important to brush your teeth at least twice every day and floss daily.
  • If too much plaque builds up on and between your teeth, you'll get cavities or – even worse – gum disease!
