Spring sports starting

There was a meeting on Feb. 26 in room 8202 by advisor and Spanish teacher Nathan Tap. The meeting covered a host of topics including basic club functions, purpose, and cost. Send an email or go see Tap for any additional information.

Boys and Girls club Rugby

Thursdays at 7 p.m. at Lake Shore Middle School and Sundays at 7 p.m. at GHHS, Rugby club conditioning and skills training. Masks are required but no experience necessary. For more information see Mr. Foley (room 7207).

BOYS LACROSSE: Conditioning and lifting is every Sunday at Grand Haven High school fitness center at 8 to 10 a.m.

GIRLS LACROSSE: Mandatory virtual pre-season meeting is Thursday March 4 at 7 p.m. For more information see Mr. Robertson in room 5204 and Mr. Bye in room 5212.

The Grand Haven Crew team has started winter training at Fruitport country club banquet center to prepare for the upcoming season.

Practices will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5-7:05 p.m. at Fruitport in two pods of one hour each, 5-6 and 6:05-7:05.

They practice indoors and do weight training, circuit exercises and stretching at the end of practice. Covid protocols will be observed including social distancing and mask wearing when training indoors.

Cost is $75 for six weeks of indoor training but you can come to a practice or two to see what rowing is like. The spring season will begin in April and cost $225. For further information email Springlakerowing@gmail.com.


First day of track practice is Monday March 22nd. Must have current physical on file to start practice. Meet in the stadium at 3p.m. and practice until 5 p.m.

Sprinters distance runners are conditioning in the Field House on Tuesday and Thursday at 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you start conditioning now, you'll be ready March 22nd.

First practice is Monday, March 15 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 3 at 2:50 pm will be an informational meeting in coach Smakas room (6202). There is no experience needed. There will be a Varsity and JV teams only this season. If you have more questions or can't make it to the meetings see coach Smaka during Academy.
