National Convention

At a national convention delegates vote on who should be the party's candidate(s).
These conventions are held every four years , to nominate who would be in the running for president and or vice president.

Both republican and democratic parties have pledge and unpledged represenatives for the parties. Pledge- represenatives that cast a vote for the states political party. Unpledged- can vote for anyone one they would like.
