Forms of Energy By: Tyler Fischer

Kinetic energy. Definition: energy that a body possesses by virtue of being in motion. As the bowling ball is going down the slope of the alley. It is picking up seed to hit the pins. You use this every day from driving a car and bowling.
Electrical potential energy: that results from conservative Coulomb forces and is associated with the configuration of a particular set of point charges within a defined system. When the car is going down the hill it release's it energy out as shown in picture. you use this when u are running down a hill or driving down a hill
Gravitational potential energy: gravity 9.8 on earth witch means the higher you are then another person the faster you will go even if u are the same mass. (as shown in picture.) At a water park when u are raceing someone down a slide you want the taller one so u will go faster.
Chemical energy: stores bonds like atoms and molecules when all of the bonds are released they are called a chemical reaction. you use this when u have a bond fire or turning on a light.
Nuclear Energy: the energy released during nuclear fission or fusion, especially when used to generate electricity. How they work similar to chemical energy they store the atoms and make it into energy, but sometimes the explode/release and that is called a nuclear reacrion
thermal energy: This heat is generated by the movement of tiny particles within an object. The faster these particles move, the more heat is generated. How i use it is to make roman noodles you haft to heat up the water to make the noodles
Light energy: Light energy is the only form of energy that we can actually see directly. It is formed through chemical, radiation, and mechanical means. You use light energy every day to turn on your car lights or turning on your phone.
Electrical energy: can be used to move charged particles through a wire from a power plant to our homes and businesses. I use this energy every day to charge my phone/things.
Sound energy: is a form of energy that is associated with vibrations of matter. It is a type of mechanical wave which means it requires an object to travel through. This object includes air and water. Sound originates from the vibrations that result after an object applies a force to another object.
