We are delighted that we have been able to return to school and continue with face to face learning. Following a turbulent, and uncertain, year this has brought us great joy. Seeing the children return to normality is wonderful and we know that this year is going to be a great one at our school.
As we continue to remember the year that we are leaving behind, let us ask God to be with us as we find strength in our new journey.
We look forward to sharing new learning experiences with the children and are excited to begin to embrace all the new changes with the new curriculum and to inspire learning in our school.
Love and Prayers,
While Wales remain at Alert level 0 for COVID-19 infections, we continue to remain vigilant for the virus.
Please DO NOT send your child to school if they have any COVID symptoms;
a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.
If your child has any of these symptoms then they must be kept at home and take a PCR test.
Please also be vigilant for the wider symptoms of COVID. These are: fatigue, myalgia, sore throat, headache, sneezing, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
If your child experiences any of these symptoms, we strongly recommend that they undertake a PCR test.
Face coverings will not be required while on school site but WILL be statutory if INSIDE the building. Parents are asked to make an appointment if they need to speak to a teacher face to face. The most effective way of communicating with staff is to send an email to LlansannorPS@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk where messgaes can be passed on to the relevant person.
We will continue to have an enhanced cleaning schedule, with frequently touched surfaces being santised regularly. Pupils, and staff, will be continuing to wash their hands regularly to reduce the spread of germs.
A thorough risk assessment has been completed and submitted by the LA.
Please can you ensure that you follow the latest government guidelines to reduce transmission.
This half term we will be look at the value of Generosity. We will be teaching children all about this Christian Value focusing on how we can give generously to those around us.
A prayer to share.
Help us to be generous and
Do all we can,
By all the means we can,
In all the ways we can,
In all the places we can,
At all the times we can,
To all the people we can,
As long as we can.
We are reviewing the process of how we compose the daily bus register and we will communicate any changes relevant to you, in due course. In the meantime, please can I ask that ALL children know how they are getting home each day. Do not rely on older siblings being able to let younger children know the arrangements. If you are unsure your child will remember then please can you either email the school or write a note to the class teacher on a weekly basis.
For your information this is what buses are called in school:
The Vale of Glamorgan Transport
P97 - Peyton Bus
P107 - Taxi
Rhondda Cynon Taf Transport
069/01 - Edwards 1
069/02 - Edwards 2
069/03 - Lazer
It would really helpful if everyone knew the names that we call the buses in school to avoid any confusion.
