CSCSHC Community Newsletter January 25, 2019

Welcome to the CSCSHC Community Newsletter. This bimonthly publication is intended to keep you up-to-date with all that is happening in and around the school district. We want to share all the great things our staff and students are doing in our classrooms and community. We look forward to sharing our stories of student success, achievement, participation in arts and athletics, and a commitment to philanthropy. We are "New Pal Proud" of our students for achieving their personal best in pursuit of excellence!

Message from the Superintendent

Thank you for your patience and cooperation with our two-hour delay this morning.

I realize some parents are inconvenienced when any decision is made to close or delay school. In an effort to help parents make an appropriate plan for closure or delay situations, we have posted the criteria for how we make those decisions, including cold temperatures and/or wind chill, on our website and mobile app. Please take some time to review these guidelines.

- Dr. Lisa Lantrip

Did You Know?

Welcome to a new feature at the top of our newsletters. We will use this section to share items we'd like you to know or education matters that may be making news headlines.

With the proposed Senate Bill 2 (school bus safety) in the news recently, we want parents to know that the district is already compliant with the bill's requirement that no students cross a US Highway or State Road for bus pickup or drop off. All CSCSHC students who live on US 52, US 40, or SR 9 have same-side pickup/drop off.

As a reminder, all of US 40 within our district is NOT a divided highway, meaning all drivers must stop for a school bus, including those going in the opposite direction of the bus.
