Recreational marijuana will allow anyone over the age of 21 to indulge in the act. Crime will drop due to it being legal and it will be harder for underage kids to get it, don’t believe me? When was the last time you saw a liquor store that don’t id? Another benefit to recreational is taxes, there is a %10 sales tax in Colorado. So that’s more money going to the government and more money going to the DEA to stop life ruining drugs such as coke, meth, heroin , bath salts ,etc.

On the other hand medical marijuana will help only those who need it. The sales tax is only %2.9 almost a quarter of recreational. This won’t stop the dealers selling to kids and could possibly be laced.

Short-term effects of marijuana

“Marijuana is often used for its “high,” and can make people feel more relaxed, alter the senses, and cause time distortion. It can also impair thinking, judgment, coordination, and memory. In some people, it may lead to paranoia or anxiety. Physical effects may include bloodshot eyes, dry mouth, slurred speech, and increased heart rate.”

These high can last up to four hours after inhaling marijuana smoke, or up to 12 hours if consumed, though performance impairments may last for much longer.

Long-term effects of marijuana

Smoking marijuana may irritate the lungs and could lead to breathing problems like coughing, excess mucus, and bronchitis. Even though It is not clear if smoking marijuana is linked to lung cancer. Marijuana use during pregnancy may also harm a baby’s brain development and If you are under 24 I will affect growth of frontal lobes which is responsible for short term memory.
