WHY DO DRIVERS HAVE TO BE TRAINED?
  • Accredited Operators Of Public Passenger Services Must Ensure That Their Drivers Are Given Training In Their Obligations Under Passenger Transport Legislation, Which Includes The Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Act 1994, The Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Regulation 2005 And Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Standard 2010.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES
  • Transporting of college students to and from Calvary Christian College on allocated AM & PM bus routes on a daily basis
  • Transport college students and staff to and from sporting venues, excursions and other destinations of college events as requested and authorised
  • Report to the Transport Supervisor any infractions of the student behaviour code which occur during transportation to and from the college, and report misbehavior of students. Log on Helpdesk. Mobile phone with link/app provided
  • Report mechanical failures and faults as soon as possible to the Transport Supervisor and log on Helpdesk. Mobile phone with link/app provided
  • Carry out Daily Inspection Procedure to ensure bus is safe before driving
  • Complete Daily Inspection Record
  • Complete Daily Log Sheets for every run/activity
  • Ensure bus is swept, clean and rubbish free on a daily basis and left clean at the end of day or as required
  • Wash bus weekly
  • Refuel bus when necessary, No bus to be lower than ¼ tank at end of day
  • Make sure vehicle is always secure and locked
  • Report any incidents, accidents immediately or as soon as possible to the Transport Supervisor / Operations Manager and log on helpdesk. Mobile phone with link/app provided
  • Ensure that the bus is driven with due safety and care
  • If driver license or driver authorisation is suspended or cancelled then the authorised driver (You) must immediately notify the accredited operation (Calvary Christian College) in writing
  • When operating a bus, an authorised driver must:
  • Be neatly dressed
  • Be courteous to passengers
  • Not smoke in the bus (regardless of whether passengers are in the vehicle)
  • Ensure at commencement of job have possession of bus mobile and it is left on charge at the end of the day
