Monkton Park Newsletter 24th October 2018

Well done to all the children for completing Term 1. Throughout the term we have had a wide range of learning opportunities culminating in our 60's celebration day earlier this week. Judging by some of the costumes on display, the children really enjoyed the day!

We have been impressed by the attitudes throughout the school and today we awarded our first Magnificent Mole Awards of the year. These are awarded six times a year by each class teacher to children who have particularly impressed during that term or year.

Congratulations this term to:

Jack Hadley, Maizie Smith, Leo Sousa, Rosa Bailey, Eoin Jones, Alvina Jahan, James Kenney, Olivia Thirkettle, Lu'Ay Ziadi, Camille Guillon

Attendance across the school has been great this term, despite the usual bugs that are going around at this time of year. Congratulations to Foxes class who have achieved the best attendance this term.

Foxes 98.3%, Otters 97.9%, Rabbits 97.8%, Owls 97.8%, Squirrels 97.5%, Badgers 96.8%, Hedgehogs 96.7%, Fieldmice 95.9%, Pine Martens 95.8%

1960's Day

Thank you to everyone involved with making our 50th Birthday celebrations a huge success. Below are a few images from the day.

Parents' Evening

Parents' Evening is on the 12th and 13th November this year. Bookings can be made by logging on here from Monday 5th November at 7pm. The process is quite simple but if you do have any trouble logging on please do let us know. All details are linked to the information we hold here at the school. Our system holds pupil legal names and preferred names. If your child's preferred name does not work please try using their legal name.

Whilst booking opens on 5th November it is possible to login to the system at any point. We would recommend trying this out in the next few days.

If your child is in Year 6 you must apply for a secondary school place for them. The deadline for applications is 31st October 2018.

You can apply online here.
