State of the Rap Game. the new school .VS. OLD SCHOOL

THE NEW SCHOOL:

2016 had several new artists in the spotlight.

(Lil Yachty Desiigner, Lil Dicky, Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, Anderson. Paak, 21 Savage, G-Herbo, Denzel Curry)

XXL showcases new artists every single year with a new XXL 'Freshman' cover.

2017 has started off great. Chance The Rapper dropped a mixtape last year (his debut on apple music) which has lead to his extreme popularity over the past few months. Why, you might ask is this important? Chance The Rapper is the first artist in ANY genre to not only attend the Grammy's with several nominations off a mixtape, but has won 2 this year.

THE OLD SCHOOL

90's Hip-Hop was debatebly the greatest time in the rap game. A lot of people don't know this, but Hip-Hop originated from the genre of Disco in the late 70's. Some of the first DJ's of all time that began in Disco, are the reason why we have the culture.

Biggie / Tupac

The Notorious B.I.G & Tupac - arguably the best rappers of all time, if not the greatest Hip-Hop rivalry the world has ever seen. They both were pioneers of the rap game, without them a lot of the artists in the past 20 years would cease to exist.
