Grand Sky Presentation Soars
Tom Swoyer, President spoke to the South Forks Lions on January 25, 2022
Unless you have the opportunity to travel West on Highway 2 your not likely to have seen or know much about Grand Sky. As written on the Grand Forks County website, Grand Sky "is a partnership among the United States Air Force, County of Grand Forks, and Grand Sky Development, is the nation's first commercial UAS business and aviation park. It is located adjacent to Grand Forks Air Force Base 20 miles west of Grand Forks." You ask what is UAS? It stands for unmanned aerial systems. Most of us are most familiar with the little drones that have become so popular. Grand Sky has several businesses that are in the drone business, except drones on steroids. There are many applications for drones or unmanned aerial systems, from law enforcement (think border patrol), agriculture to military. As you can see in the slide to the left Grand Sky is made up of 217 acres on the Grand Forks Air Force Base. For more information click on the Grand Sky Facebook Page button below.
