For more than 40 years, Dale Goode has expressed his artistic point of view through painting, photography, sculpting and printmaking. A new suite of his work is on display at Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s offices and available for purchase.
The collection of ten embossed-monoprints were created at Zygote Press and represent a new medium for Mr. Goode. The pieces are an original abstract painting with a print over top. Colors range from moody blues, grays and purples, to vibrant reds, yellows and greens. Some of the pieces contain images from a mural Mr. Goode painted in the mid-1970s in Glenville at the old Whitwork & Sons Moving and Storage Building on E. 105th.
“I just began taking up print making, and I received good feedback on it,” he said. “These abstract pieces would lend themselves well to commercial, corporate and institutional environments, and even residences.”
Mr. Goode is one of six Cleveland artists selected to participate in next year’s FRONT International Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art as part of The Cleveland Foundation’s Creative Fusion program.
He graduated from East Tech High School, studied at Cleveland Institute of Art, earned an undergraduate degree at Hiram College, and completed graduate studies at Kent State University. His work has been exhibited at Progressive Insurance, University Hospitals, Cuyahoga Community College, and Oberlin College, among other places.
