Light of Iceland #alphaaddicted

Iceland, September 2017. I got the pleasure to be one of the candidates who received the #alphaaddicted camera bag. As I live in this beautiful country since a while, I knew where I would find the light and places I had in mind to create what I wanted to.

Long drives, hikes and waiting definitely payed out and this is what I created.

The highlands of Iceland are often hidden under a thick layer of clouds which creates the perfect mood to capture moments like this.
The last light entering one of the many canyons in the highlands.
It is the light, the raw beauty and the harsh weather I like the most about this place called Thorsmork. Even is I have spent a lot of time there, I have never seen the moon shining this bright and creating this magical atmosphere.
There was more light than expected on these particular day. The moon illuminated the whole valley and created these phenomenal reflections in the glacial rivers.
It seemed to be the right moment when this Icelandic horses started to cuddle during sunset. Sometimes you just have to be lucky.
Long drives never disappoint in Iceland if the weather is on your side.
Sheer endless power in Europes biggest waterfall, Dettifoss.
In the middle of Iceland lays a part which has black sand for kilometres and kilometres. This little cabins are all over the country to provide shelter to locals and tourists.
As little cabins, also the Icelandic horse is a trademark of Iceland and it would not be the same without it.
I witnessed the green shimmer behind the clouds almost the whole evening and almost gave up hope after a couple of hours waiting. Suddenly the sky opened for ten minutes and the northern lights showed their fantastic beauty.
Thank you Sony #alphaaddicted.
