Pastor Moore: Mission Trip Updates Truevine Missionary Baptist Church

Pastor Moore will be on mission with the Baptist General Convention of Texas from August 1 - August 16 in Tanzania and Uganda. Keep scrolling for the most current updates.

Below is specific information about our trip so you can pray specifically for us as we travel and lead the people of Tanzania & Uganda.

Information about Tanzania & Uganda: According to East African church leaders, there is a great need to reach the lost for Christ. Tanzania and Uganda are open fields for the gospel as they have governmental leaders who are Christian. The people are hungry for the Word of God and training in orthodox Christian doctrine. There are reports of hundreds coming to faith in Christ yet lack sound leadership to guide them. There are some great things happening by God’s grace. There is a literacy training program for women with the intent of them being able to find better-paying jobs and ultimately being able to read and study Scripture. Pastors are traveling long distances to share with and care for people in remote villages. Yet, the African leaders are seeking partnership with like-minded organizations to assist them in fulfilling the Great Commission and Commandments of Christ.

Our Purpose: To offer training to Bivocational leaders in East Africa in the areas of evangelism, discipleship, general leadership and women’s ministry. To gather information for potential partnership between East African Baptists and Texas Baptists and WMU of Texas. To determine ways the ministry and missions can be offered to fill the void of IMB’s absence. To determine the viability of Texas Baptists churches serving as Champion Churches for the seminary in Arusha, Tanzania.

How we will accomplish this: Conduct general assembly classes in evangelism, discipleship, leadership, and ministry to and with women at the Baptist Convention of Tanzania Annual Meeting and Ugandan Church Leaders Gathering. Conduct breakout sessions in pastoral and lay leadership development. Meet with key leaders about church and leadership needs in Tanzania and Uganda. Preach in Tanzania and Uganda churches. Meet with seminary leaders in Arusha to determine long term goals for the institution. Three teaching emphasis: (1) Developing Church Leaders; (2) Evangelism and Discipleship; and (3) Ministry to and through Women. Our teaching focus will be around these areas.

Today was our last day with the Tanzanian Baptist Convention. They presented us with traditional Maasai attire. My cape designates me as an elder; it drapes on the shoulders to signify the weight leaders carry on their shoulders.

“As long as God, who knows the future, provides our agenda and goes with us as we fulfill His mission, we can have boundless HOPE. This does not mean that we will be spared pain, suffering, or hardship, but that God will see us through to a glorious conclusion!” Please keep the Baptist leaders in Tanzania in your prayers.
