Thesis: Shakespeare influenced the world through his early, middle, and late life.

Early Life:

Quote #1: "Venus and Adonis proved to be extremely popular and was reprinted at least 15 times in Shakespeare’s lifetime"(Lander).

Commentary: "Venus and Adonis proved to be extremely popular and was reprinted at least 15 times in Shakespeare’s lifetime"(Lander).

Quote #2: "William Shakespeare was born in the small market town of Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564, the third of eight children"(Lander).

Commentary: Shakespeare growing up had a lot of siblings. Even though having 7 siblings he stood out the most amongst them.

Quote #3: "In 1594 Shakespeare became an actor and playwright for the Lord Chamberlain's Men, the company that later became the King's Men under James I"("William").

Commentary: Early on Shakespeare started acting for Chamberlain’s Men. This could contribute to his later success in the more bigger plays.

Quote #4: "Shakespeare, as the son of a leading, Stratford citizen, almost certainly attended Stratford's grammar school"(Folgers).

Commentary: Shakespeare most likely went to Stratford's grammar school which focused on the Latin classes. The items learned at this school could have influenced him when writing his plays and his work.

Middle Life:

Quote #1: "At the age of eighteen, he married Anne Hathaway, who was eight years older than he was. Some time after birth of their second and third children (twins), Shakespeare moved to London apparently leaving his family in Stratford.”

Commentary: He married someone a good amount older than him and had twins leaving his family. After moving to London a part in his career was major.

Quote #2: "William Shakespeare was an Elizabethan playwright who wrote some of the most widely praised dramas in English language; Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, The Merchant of Venice, and Twelfth Night"(Berne).

Commentary:William and Elizabethan wrote many famous dramas in English. These were very popular and some still are like Romeo and Juliet.

Late Life:

Quote #1: "Shakespeare's father, John, came from farming stock and worked in Stratford as a "Whitawer"- a tanner of white leather- and glover(glove maker)"(Wells).

Commentary: Shakespeare's father was just a regular worker nothing special about him. Once Shakespeare started getting famous his family became well known.

Quote #2: "During much of this period, Shakespeare ranked as London’s most popular playwright, based on the number of times his plays were performed and published"(Lander).

Commentary: Now Shakespeare is the most popular playwright and his plays were performed many times. He brought great success to the theatre world through his writing and style of plays which is why his plays were done many times.

Quote #3: " A gap in the records leads some scholars to refer to Shakespeares life between 1585 and 1592 as ' the lost tears'"(BBC).

Commentary: This gap in records is known as the lost tears. Once he returns he has left his family, is in London, and is working in theatre.
