The BEST of what Canada has to offer! By: Barooj Shaista!

Is the co-existence of many cultures included like religious or cultural groups

In 1971, Canada became the first country in the world to adopt multiculturalism ism as an official policy and it became law in 1988. The policy also confirmed the rights of Aboriginal people and Canada's two official languages. The 25th anniversary of the Canadian Multiculturalism Act was marked in 2013. The belief of Canadian multiculturism is that all citizens are equal and gives a feeling of security and self confidence which makes them more open to and accepting of diverse cultures ("Annual Repoty on the operation of the Canadian Multiculturism Act 2012-2013").

Multiculturism is a way that people get to know other cultures and be a part of it. I think it's very important to know other people's cultures because of this you can be more open minded to the outside world and have a new way of looking at other cultures. There are all kinds of worship places for every religion like mosques, churches, temples and gurudwaras in all nearby areas.

Canada Day

Canada Day is celebrated on July 1st and it's is celebrated on the grounds of Queens Park in Toronto at 111 Wellesley Street West. It takes place from 10 am to 5 pm but the official opening ceremony and 21- gun salute is at 12 pm. It has been a tradition since 1967. Some of the features are music and dance performances, roaming performances, games, children activities (painting and crafts). Food or drinks can be purchased from food vendors and a lot of services provided like first aid kits, lost and found box, water refil stations and accessible washrooms ("Canada Day").

Canada has a fun way of celebrating its birthday with lots of dances and activities and it's important to also pay attention to a place we live in. Canada will turn 150 years old in 2017. A lot of fun activities are involved and families get together and enjoy. It is very important to spend time with your family and this is one way.

The Canadian Flag

Canada has an amazing variety of food choices that can meet the needs of every one. It has well organized and neat restaurants like Tim Hortons, Popeyes etc and for veg lovers various places. Easy drive through, some stores open early in the morning. Some variety of food includes chips, snacks, meat products (halal), breads, desserts(cupcakes, chocolates, cakes, etc.), maple syrup, Poutine, Sea food(crabs, lobster, shrimps, fish, etc.), vegetables, fruits, beverages(coffee, coke, energy drinks, etc.) ("Canadian Food: The most 'Canadian' foods include Bacon, Poutine and Maple syrup").

I think every food is special in different ways like desserts, we eat them in celebrations, weddings and when we are stressed. Noodles can be made by anyone and doesn't take much time to prepare and is a on the go dish. Every food a speciality in every occasion. Some restaurants open early in the morning to serve students coming from outside Canada or early workers that have to go early in the morning and get breakfast or coffee which is really nice and helpful.

That's why!
