RMC vs Concordia Thursday - 2018/10/04

Kingston, ON - RMC (1-0) knocked off a nationally ranked Concordia Stingers (0-1) team to start the 2018-19 season with a 2-1 win.

Cameron Lamport scored the Paladins first goal of the season on the power play eight minutes into the game. Rhett Willcox and David Savery earned the assists.

In his first game at RMC, rookie Alex MacDonald scored his first U SPORTS goal to double the Paladins lead. Savery earned his second point of the game with the only assist on the power play goal.

1st Intermission

RMC was ahead 2-0 after 20 minutes.

Concordia responded late in the second period with a power play goal of their own, as Stingers rookie Hugo Roy also netted the first goal of his U SPORTS career.

2nd Intermission

Concordia's goal made it 2-1 after 40 minutes.

Paladins rookie goaltender Brad Van Schubert made 36 saves aginst the reigning OUA bronze medalists, including 21 saves in the third period alone.

RMC is back in action after Thanksgiving with a Wednesday evening tilt against Queen's (0-0) at the Kingston Memorial Centre. Puck drop is at 7:30 PM.
