RP ANALYSIS: The ground was soft, yielding in places following 17mm of rain since Friday morning. There were some showers throughout the afternoon, more persistent for the second half of the card. The winning jockey in the opener said the surface was just borderline soft. ESPOUSE, an Elusive Pimpernel filly whose unraced dam is closely related to the stable's Group 3-winning miler Pincheck, was not given a hard time on her debut here over 6f in September when seventh to the smart Keeper Of Time. She relished the mile here and quickened nicely once in the clear. She won a shade snugly and there should be more to come over 1m2f.
