What is City of STEM?
City of STEM is a platform to unite the diversity of Greater Los Angeles, rallying the public around science and drawing attention to the region’s continued national importance in STEM research, education and industry, from aerospace to biotech. Our mission is to ignite a community of critical and creative thinkers.
The City of STEM festival started in 2015 and was organized by the Columbia Memorial Space Center. With more than 60 partners and 5,000 attendees in 2018 this year’s City of STEM continues in its trend of growing in partners and increasing attendance.

City of STEM 2019 is a culmination of half a decade of planning and networking to develop the biggest and most diverse partnership of STEM organizations that Greater Los Angeles has to offer.
With almost 100 partners expected to participate and recognition from Mayor Garcetti as the official STEM festival of L.A.; City of STEM's main event is projected to bring in 10,000 guests this year and thousands more throughout the entire month of April.
Huge sponsors like Boeing and Ozobot not only legitimize our mission but also pledged enough capital to meet this years titanic event goals.

Why is City of STEM important to LA?
City of STEM showcases all the STEM resources that are available in Los Angeles. It is a reminder to everyone about how deep the history of it goes in LA. It also works to break down a lot of the social barriers that the STEM fields might have and show how diverse the face of it is.

What is the price for admission?
The main event on April 6th is free. However, event that take place at our partner locations during the rest of April may have a charge. Our calendar has specific details on each event.
What is there to see and do?
City of STEM will have events for the whole family. The main event on April 6th will have live music, STEM activities, food, demonstrations, and all our partners will be here with booths and/or activities.
What kind of events will be available throughout the month?
Events will include Yuri's Night KIDS, a kids version of Yuri's Night and celebration of all things space. Biocom will be hosting a Pub Science where they will take over a brewery and talk science and beer. The Natural History Museum will also hold a city wide Nature Challenge during the month.
