MARCH NEWSLETTER THE CROSSING CHURCH

FAREWELL, ANDERSONS

The Crossing celebrates what God has done and will continue to do. We send the Anderson family with love, memories, and a hope to follow God's calling in the city of Aurora. It was a blessed day as we send off the Anderson family to follow Christ's calling to MN and enter into Ch. 2 of The Crossing Church. Praise HIM for his faithfulness and HIS commitment to us.

The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

THE SELFLESS CHURCH IN A SELFIE CULTURE

Denver is an exciting place. We have beautiful mountains, exciting sports, the best beer, and the cutting edge technology to snap a “selfie” of ourselves looking really good while we enjoy it all. The Selfie is symbol for how we navigate our increasingly busy, confusing, and morally gray life in the 21st century. The one constant in our inconsistent world is my right to do what I want. “I can do what I want, where I want, when I want, with whom I want… and you can’t say anything about it!”

Two millennia ago, the city of Corinth had a similar view of personal freedom: “I have the right to do anything!” (1 Cor. 6:12). The Christians in Corinth used this phrase to justify everything; leading to conflicting views on sex, lawsuits, gender, marriage, celebrity pastors, worship styles, food ethics, sexual expression in fashion, and blurred lines between secular and sacred. Their church became prideful, argumentative, divided, and deeply hurt. …Sound familiar? Paul responds to this individualistic attitude

“‘I have the right to do anything’ - but not all things are helpful. ‘I have the right to do anything’ – but not all things build up. You are not your own, you were bought at a price. You were washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

(1 Cor. 6:11-20)

The Crossing Church is here to proclaim how God is redeeming all things through Jesus Christ. Come join us as we open God’s Word and take its challenge seriously: how to be the selfless children of God in a culture of “Selfie."

MISSION 10:45

DAY TO SHARE | May 21, 2017

Day To Share is one of the ways our church lives out Mission 10:45. It’s an annual free garage sale, when donated items are made available to our community at no cost. God has been generous with us - in our material possessions, in His love for us, and in the ransom He provided by his Son – and we seek to demonstrate that generosity to our community!

We need your help! There are many ways to join in serving our city through Mission 10:45’s Day To Share.

Contact Beky Balboa for more information.

COFFEE AND FELLOWSHIP

JOIN US AT 9:30am EVERY SUNDAY

We believe community is important within the Church. Not just listening to a sermon on Sunday morning, but living life on mission together, spending time with each other, and being available to those around us. Coffee and Fellowship time is an opportunity to catch up with those you may not get to see on a daily basis. Above all it's an opportunity to be present as the Lord brings visiting families to The Crossing. Join us for a cup of brew and connect with your family. It's a swell time.
