Servant Stories Helping Salina Move

The purpose of this story is not for us to be content with one good deed. It is to encourage a lifestyle of serving others like Jesus served us. There is a broader community in Fairbanks not connected to a church that is hurting and in need of the gospel. Radiant believes that we should not just be content listening to the Bible be preached on a Sunday but that we live out the Gospel every single day in the communities of Fairbanks. Two weeks ago, we received a call for help from our friends and family in the village of Galena. The lead pastor of Galena Bible Church, Chris Kopp, let us know that a lady who lived in Galena needed help for her mother living in Fairbanks.

Abandoned house where Salina was living

Salina's house was abandoned. The electricity had been shut-off and the house was in a state of disarray. The basement was flooded but most of Salina's belongings were in the house above the basement. She just needed a group of people to come move her belongings out of her house and into a storage unit in town.

Despite having no heat and no light, 15-20 people came out with several trucks and quickly packed up and moved Salina. Within an hour and a half, almost all of Salina's belongings had been packed and moved into her storage unit.

Salina

As the church we are called to serve. Thanks to all who came out and helped Salina move. If you haven't stepped up and served at Radiant yet, join our family in reaching out into our community with the Gospel. Join one of our Gospel Communities or ask about where you can serve.

"Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
