Parents with Depressed Adolescents How medicine can make a difference

Parents of depressed adolescents should start by spending time with his or her adolescent. Parents who have strong relationships with his or her adolescent may have an easier time administering medication.

Since medication has been proven to control, minimize, and even diminish adolescent depression, parents should feel more inclined to seek proper medical attention for their depressed adolescent.

Parents of adolescents should be able to understand that the only real cost for helping his or her adolescent is time and money. If parents are willing to sacrifice and give what they have to offer, their adolescent will get better.
