Monticello Alumni Report: Boys Basketball November 25th, 2019

Matt Todd

Matt Todd--now playing at Augustana University--has started all five games for the Augies this season and is off to a great start. Averaging 12.2 points per game, Todd is shooting 53.7-percent from the field and an outstanding 10-of-22 from beyond the arc. Todd's best game of the season came on Nov. 21 in a 110-89 win over Buena Vista. There, Todd made 7-10 3-point shots en route to 34 points a season high. Great job Matt!

Thomas Schyma

Thomas--a senior at Concordia-Moorhead--has started in every game so far for the Cobbers and is averaging 33.2 minutes per game, the most on the team. Schyma is shooting 50.8-percent from the field and also leads the team in points per game at 19.6. The Cobbers are 2-3 overall and have upcoming games against Gustavus, Martin Luther, and St. John's. Fantastic work Thomas!

Carson Sawatzke

Carson Sawatzke is a freshman at Carelton and is doing well both on and off the court so far for the Knights. On the court, Sawatzke has gotten a couple minutes of playing time as he adjusts to the college game. In his game vs. Saint John's a few members of the Monticello community went and cheered on Sawatzke. Keep up the great work Carson!

Austin Puppe

Austin--a freshman at Gustavus--is also adjusting to the college game, much like Sawatzke. Gustavus has only played a couple games so far and Puppe will look for his role to increase throughout the season after recently returning from a knee injury. For now, Puppe will continue working in practice and taking classes in pursuit of his actuarial science degree. Keep working hard Austin!
