NORDIC PRESS FAM TO NEW YORK CITY March 15th-20th, 2017 - an Atlantic Link case story

The purpose of this press trip was twofold. Firstly, key journalists were given a sample of Iceland with Icelandair’s stopover program on routes to New York City and USA. Secondly, what has been dubbed the ‘new’ New York was promoted through several tours, attractions, sites and dining options all pertaining to the areas of Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.

8 journalists and digital influencers from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland took part in this press FAM resulting in diverse angles and ample coverage in the Nordic region across several platforms.

During the five days, media were exposed to two extremities: Natural beauty in Iceland and the vibrant city life in New York City - both of which enchanted the group in their own way. Media had a unique opportunity to learn about all the new things going on in NYC and how the city keeps renewing itself. They were taken from the authentic Nepalese restaurants in Queens to the very top of the new One World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan. The provided them with great insight about the City’s many aspects, trendy culture and iconic landmarks, such as…

The geysers of Iceland...
Cultural diversity and authentic dining in Queens...
The inspiring Brooklyn Flea in the Skylight One Hanson...
The shopping scene in New York City...
The Brooklyn bridge seen from DUMBO...
Westfield World Trade Center inside the Oculus...
And the top of the new One World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan.
