Midas wanted a lot of gold. He helped the god of wine, Dionysus.

Dionysus repaid him by making everything Midas touched turned into gold.

He later regretted that decision by accidentally turning his daughter into a gold statue.

He went to the river and grabbed water to erase all the gold and lived happily ever after.
