Dreams; Aspirations By: Miranda Quiñonez ❤️

Theme: No matter how hard or unrealistic a dream may seem you should always pursue it , with or without those who believe you can reach it.

Dreams and Aspirations are something we should never give up on, no matter the obstacles ahead. Also, these different examples will you show you how a dream could affect your life if you aren't able to achieve it or if you do achieve it. In my presentation today I will be showing you 3 different examples of dreams and aspirations using quotes from OMAM; The Scarlet Ibis; The Pursuit of Happyness.

“George went on. “With us it ain't like that. We got a future. We got somebody to talk to that gives a damn about us. We don't have to sit in no bar room blowin’ in our jacks jus’ because we got no place else to go. If them other guys gets in jail they can rot for all anybody gives a damn. But not us. ” (14) “O.K. Someday—we're gonna get that jack together and we're gonna have a little house and a couple of acres an’ a cow and some pigs and—” (14)

The author in O.M.A.M. is trying to teach that sometimes in society others may and try to ruin or keep you from reaching your dreams but you just have to believe you can do it.

This example from Of Mice and Men relates to how you should always chase your dreams no matter what for, In the story it talks about how Lennie and George want a farm together and have a future together as friends. Unfortunately both Lennie and George face a few obstacles during their journey, Lennie accidentally kills Curley's wife. Due to the fact that Lennie killed Curley's wife the other wants to kill him, but George leads them away from where he might be. George then goes to where he is and tells him of their dream and to to imagine it, while that happens George kills Lennie. Although they didn't reach their dreams they still pursued them, and he allowed Lennie to die believing in their dream.

"At times I was mean to doodle, One day I took him up to the barn loft and showed him his casket, telling him how we all believed he would die. " "I did not know then that pride is a wonderful, terrible thing,....." (347). "....a knot of cruelty borne by the stream of love....." (346). "Brother, Brother don't leave me! Don't leave me!" (563).

In the story the author is trying to tells us that sometimes the dreams and aspirations we have may not always end up how we hoped they would.

These examples from The Scarlet Ibis show you how chasing your dreams may not always end how you would want. In The Scarlet Ibis it tells us how all that Doodle's older brother wanted was for Doodle to be 'normal'. He pushed Doodle over his limit knowing that he was not to be pushed far past how much he can handle. Doodle's older brother finally achieved his dream of making his brother 'normal' by showing how to walk, run, and play but in the process Doodle couldn't handle it all and when Doodle's older brother was running with him he collapsed (passed away). The Scarlet Ibis showed us that even though he was able to pursue and achieve his dream he lot someone in the process, and that will forever change his life.

"Stop letting people who do so little for you control so much of your mind, feelings, & emotions" (Will Smith) "I still remember that that moment.... They all looked so damn happy to me... and, I couldn't stop to ask myself, wondering... why couldn't I look like that?" (Will Smith)

In the movie Pursuit of Happyness it will motivate you to pursue your dreams in spite of any hard times that may come your way and pushes you to take risks and believe in your dreams.

In the movie The Pursuit of Happyness teaches us how if your dream is great enough to pursue you should pursue it as far as you can. No matter the obstacles you face ahead you should never give up, especially if your doing it for someone you love. The movie shows us how Christopher Gardner (Will Smith), has his son and how his wife left him. All he wants is for his son Christopher Jr. (Jaden Smith) to have a better life so he applies for a competitive internship, but during his journey to get the job he loses his home and is faced to go through a series of struggles just so his son has a place to sleep everyone and to make him happy. Later in the movie he is willing to do anything to have a better life, at the end of the movie when he wins the internship he is so proud of what he has done,p and so is his son. This movie is the perfect example of dreams and aspirations cause he never gave up on what he wanted the most in his life.

Universal theme: No matter how hard or unrealistic a dream may seem you should always pursue it , with or without those who believe you can reach it.

Now that I have analyzed these 3 pieces of littérature I can say that this relates to my life and our current society because all of these examples show you how you should always chase your dreams no matter the outcome, this relates in my life and our current society because everyone will always tell you not to follow your dream, but your just going to have to face the fact that they just want to put you down and tell you that you can't do anything. What we should learn from this is that dreams no matter what they are have a cost; even if it's good or bad, your just going to have to pursue it and face it no matter what happens in the end. This is what I learned from these 3 pieces of littérature and how they relate in my life and what I should learn from them.

THE END ....❤️❤️❤️❤️
