Harrisonburg Nazarene Annual report 2018-2019

Andy is one who has been transformed over the last year through the power of God and His people at HFCN. His life was broken, filled with hurt, disappointment, and addiction. Over the past year we walked with him as he checked into rehab and journeyed with him as he entered back into every day life. Andy’s journey hasn’t been easy. With the recent loss of his father and some broken and toxic relationships surrounding him, he is growing every day and learning to overcome through God’s power at work in Him. Andy is one person. One life being changed. Praise the Lord there are others. Each of them with a name, a story, a burden, but also with HOPE. If Jesus welcomed even the tax collectors and sinners (Luke 15:1-2), then His heart is that we would do the same. People like Andy need a place to be loved, to find hope, and to experience the transforming power of our great God. This is our mission. All for the Glory of God.

We are celebrating 360 salvations, 61 baptisms, & 42 new members received between 5/1/18-3/31/19. We also averaged a weekly worship attendance of 1,110. All glory to God!

HFCN served outside of our walls this year. From School Supplies to ringing the Salvation Army Bell to supplying families with Christmas gifts for their families. You gave… you served, and in doing so, you helped spread the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. Your generosity and obedience led to special offerings totaling $85,778. In addition...$111,494 was given to World Evangelism Fund (worldwide missions operations), $45,611 to Eastern Nazarene College (for scholarship assistance to students). All of this, above and beyond the tithe!

I love being your pastor and I am so excited for the year(s) to come here in Harrisonburg. As we are stretched even more this year to grow and to light our world through VBS & Best Week Ever, and as we worship and grow together in community, I pray that our Lord Jesus would see us as faithful to His mission of loving God with all of our heart, mind, soul & strength and that we would love (and welcome) others as we love ourselves!
