Couple Berry Farms Vista, California

Located off a windy road in the foothills of North County San Diego, lies a gem of a farm stand, Couple Berry Farms. I drove by the hand painted signs advertising the farm stand for months before I ventured in, wondering what I might find. Sometimes I think fate just waits for the right time to give you a special treat.

Farmer Butch lives and works on the land that his Grandfather owned. Since the first time I've visited, I have felt relaxed and at peace at this place. Butch is laid back and friendly, and loves having people visit his animals as well as share his fantastic produce. When his goats were first born, my husband and I were able to bottle feed them- an experience I will never forget. In addition to the goats, he has pigs, chickens, ducklings, sheep, dogs and bunnies- all who love to be pet and visited.

Couple Berry's produce is fantastic, plus I love being able to have food freshly picked from the ground, seasonal, without pesticides and local. People come from all over San Diego to get his delicious strawberries and blackberries.

I highly recommend visiting and getting your fix of farm animals and fresh air. Locate at 629 Mar Vista Drive in Vista, California, just off the 78 thruway. They're open Thursday and Friday from 1- 6 pm and Saturday 9 am- 5 pm.
