Liver cancer affects humans. Primary liver cancer tends to occur in livers damaged by birth defects, alcohol abuse, or chronic infection with diseases such as hepatitis B and C

Liver cancer, also known as hepatic cancer, is a cancer which starts in the liver, it's not born with. Liver cancer is a disease not a disorder.

Normal liver vs. Cancerous liver

WHEN? When was it discovered, who discovered it?

In 2008 marked an important first chapter in what is expected to be a new era of liver cancer research and treatments. Lots of researchers discovered it but it was founded in the United States.

WHERE? Where was it found, where can you get treatments, where does it infect your body/animals?

This disease is found in our liver. As far as treatments you can get surgery, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, chemotherapy, etc. This disease infects your body and animals in the liver.

Radiation Therapy

WHY? Why does people or animal catch it?

Most people get liver cancer because they have cirrhosis which happens when people abuse alcohol. Liver cancer can also be linked to obesity or fatty liver disease. Animals The most common type of liver cancer is hepatocellular carcinoma which originates in the liver some liver tumors can originate in bile ducts, connective tissue, blood vessels, and hormone- secreting cells.

HOW? How does this relate to you?

We picked this disease because it has interesting facts. For example all vertebrates (animals with a spinal column) have a liver, as do some other animals. Some animals are dogs, mouse, cats etc.

Some scientists believe that vaccinations and improved treatments for hepatitis could prevent about half of liver cancer cases worldwide. Scientists are looking for causes and ways to prevent liver cancer, and doctors are working to improve treatments.
