This collection of photos are all taken on the grounds of the Archie Bray in Helena, Montana. Throughout the entire time capturing these pictures, I focused a lot on composition and how it affects the appearance of a photo.
Our class took some of the most interesting photos from the Archie Bray, and combined them with poetry symbolic of the theme presented in the photo. It was such an interesting project, and I think I'd enjoy experimenting with both art forms more in the future!
Adrian Murray is actually a close family member of mine. I hadn't been aware of his photography until recently, but I've fallen in love with it. His work shows a special kind of light that's hard to find elsewhere, and captures the essence of childhood. I enjoy the typically calm, light, and peaceful feeling gained from each of his photos.
All of the photos in this collection were taken with lighting in mind. It's something Murray payed close attention to, and something I've been learning to focus on. I kept my subject young in addition, wanting to create a similar mood to the work of Adrian.
